“My country is being used as the world’s rubbish bin!” complains Mike Anane, an environmental activist based in Accra, Ghana. Annually, up to 50 million tons of e-waste – computers, television sets, mobile phones, household appliances – are discarded in the developed world. 75% of this waste disappears from the legal recycling circuits.
In this film, Mike travels to Spain and the UK to investigate how some of this waste finds its way to Ghana, revealing a toxic trade fuelled by greed and corruption.
